KKR Splash of Kahlua owned and loved by Jessica Bowers of Gloucester, VA was chosen to be featured in The Purina® Dog Chow® "Picture Your Dog" Times Square event!!!
The wildly successful event beginning Thursday, June 19, 2008 featured over 1,000 dogs on the digital displays in New York’s Times Square! The event goal is to show how special and different each dog is. Purina understands every dog is different and they have formulated a food that is good for every type of dog. They had pictures of dogs flashing on that huge board to help make their point... all dogs are different and special!!! Kahlua is from Relic and Charlie's "Orphan Litter" and was formerly known as Sweet Pea. At not yet 2 years old, Kahlua and Jessica have already earned a CGC (Canine Good Citizen), HIC (Herding Instinct Certificate) and just this past weekend earned all 3 legs of their Novice Rally title in their first EVER competition. In addition to this HUGE performance achievement, Kahlua also won her conformation class all three days and Reserve Winners Bitch 2 of the 3 days in she and Jessica's first time EVER in a conformation show!!! This is an incredible team at ALL levels and I am always excited to see what they are up to next!!!!  |

HUTCHINSON HOLY COW!!!!
Wow, what a weekend we had at the International Show in Hutchinson, MN. Three of our gang went and all three came home with International Titles!!!! Introducing: Int'l & Am Ch KKR Wolfgang Waltz with Jakona HQ1 won Best of Breed under 3 of the 4 judges and went on to win Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3!!!!! He received the highest possible score, a V1, under all 4 judges. Int'l Ch KKR Aiko won Best of Breed under the 4th judge and also received V1's under all 4 judges. Aiko is another Champion offspring of KKR Flamenco Rhythm and Int'l & Am Ch Crestridge Everything to Gain, who is owned by Cammay Caudillo, Aurora, CO. Aiko is owned by Meghan Wobles, Sioux Falls, SD Int'l Ch KKR Sizzlin Samba Malabo APD received V1's under all 4 judges to round out a GREAT weekend. Kahlua is one of Relic and Charlie's orphan pups formerly known as Sweet Pea. Her mom, Jessica, took her this weekend to a Herding Instinct Trial where she got her certificate on the first try!!!! She is also loving Agility with Jessica who hopes to have her competition ready soon. AFTER all that, they plan to hit the Conformation ring. WAY TO GO Jessica and Kahlua!!!!

THREE Down, THREE to Go!!!!!
NEW CHAMPION! Another of Mink's offspring (all from the same litter sired by Cammay Caudillo's In'tl & Am Ch Crestridge Everything to Gain) won her AKC championship in Ottumwa, IA with a BANG!!!! Tusi won Best of Breed and then won a GROUP 3 !!!! WOW!! Tusi is owned and loved by Lori Grovenburg, Sioux Falls, SD. Lori is THRILLED to have Tusi finished so they can continue on to the fun stuff which is Therapy Dog. Tusi is now Int'l & Am CH KKR Do the Watusi Too CGC. Way to go Lori!!!! Thank you very much to Melanee and Tim Clark, handlers extraordinaire, who love our dogs as much as we do!!!  KKR Stealin' Your Attention, "Josie" won Best of Opposite Sex for 2 points and Winners Bitch for 1 point in Gainsville, FL while being handled by her owner and best friend, Kim Green. Josie joins her other 5 pointed or Champion siblings from the KKR Flamenco Rhythm, "Mink" x CH Everything to Gain, "Gane" "Rhode Trip" litter. Way to GO, Kim & Josie!!!!  FIRST EVER Bird Dog Qualifier held at Oak Valley Kennels Canton, SD on October 27, 2007 Ch KKR Wolfgang Waltz with Jakona (Walley) was the first Ridgeback to take the field and the first to QUALIFY for his HQ 1 signifying that he exhibited the necessary instincts to hunt birds. KKR Wolfgang Waltz with Jakona, "Walley", fought his way through tough competition in Fargo, ND to take Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex for a 4 point major from the Open class and the points he needed to earn his championship at the tender age of 17 months to the day!!!! Thank you sooooo much to amateur handler Tim Clark, Vermillion, SD who has only shown Walley in two shows but he took BOB in one and BOS in the other and Championed!!! Paris (KKR Shakarri's A Saint She Ain't) went Winners Bitch, then Best of Winners on Saturday for 2 points and on Sunday, Josie (KKR Stealin' Your Attention) went Winners Bitch, then Best of Opposite Sex for 2 points!!!! WOW!!!!!! Paris is owned by Heather Muzzey and Josie is owned by Kim Green.

The "Fabulous Five" consisted of AKC CH KKR Fenway 4 Yawkey Way, AKC CH KKR Foxtrot Finesse, KKR Do the Watusi Too, AKC CH Kengali's Macarena and KKR Minuet Melody all scored V-1 under all four judges to earn their International Champion Titles!!! Littermates, Fenway and Foxey, each went Best of Breed under two judges each AND each won either second or third in the Hound Group!!!! The Ridgebacks were well represented and VERY visible on the awards stand!!!!  As the breeder of 4 of the above 5 NEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONS, the most rewarding comment from ALL of the judges were their consistent compliments regarding the "Fabulous Five's" pleasant and easy going temperments!!! Can't ask for more than that!!!!
