Hi June, Dakota is doing great!! He is soooooo huge! My boys just love him - he is such a good dog. He comes when he is called and is everything and more you described. He has gone through training and is very obedient. He is such a great companion and a great addition to our Family. You don't know what you have done for me and my family. When we take him to the park he just runs all over the place. The boys try to catch him without success. He loves to be their center of attention. As a puppy he has been just great. He tries to be so careful around our littlest boy. It is real interesting to watch. It seems that he can tell that he is fragile and needs to be careful. But for the most part he is just a happy doppey lovable boy. I will get my wife to snap a few photos of he and the boys today and I'll forward them on. We just love him. Thanks again so very much.

Rocket is doing so well with all of my daycare children and my own. His siblings, Alice, Evee, and Ralfie (terrier sibling) love to rock with him. He is potty trained and so good. I have one little child care child that is the next dog whisperer. He dives on Rocket's head and they wrestle but no biting. He is still nipping and teething just like his child care buddies. Today he was trying to find out why he couldn't eat at the table. He is our joy. He likes running around the park with his mommy. He runs right with me. It is good for both of us. Tomorrow we are going to have a snow storm so I put up the little tent we have in the living room and it has been so funny that we can't get enough. He is running back and forth and when we touch the side he tries to get "it". My human daughters, Alice and Evee, kept being the "it" on the outside of the tent. It was a treat. It is so wonderful to have him in our family right now. Evee, my youngest and spunkiest, has decided that she is his real mommy. She comes home from preschool at noon when it is nap time for the babies, she told me yesterday and I quote, "Mommy, since I am Rocket's mommy, I think that he needs to have a nap. I want him on my lap(on his favorite rocker) for a half hour because he needs to rest." He did not fight it. We have been outside with all of the children running around and he is great with them. They all know how to say " no" and "drop it Rocket" and he listens to them. My husband raised our other Ridgeback when he was single and Rocket is the first large dog I have raised. It has been a joy.

I am a dog lover of all kind, and would own one of each if I could. I came across your website by searching the paper- I look for dogs every week, however we already have 3, so looking is all I do. Your website was very nice. These dogs look like absolute sweethearts, and they are very beautiful. The 'In Loving Memory' page was heartbreaking. Just wanted to write a quick note to say I enjoyed looking and learning about your dogs and the breed. You must really love what you do, because it shows!

June, John and I have discussed before that we admire your passion and love for your Rhodesians. It is reflected in the emails you do on each litter, the communication you have done with us, and in your website. That is why we have kept in contact with you since first discovering you as a breeder as there would be no one else we would go to for a puppy because of the passion you put into it. I will keep an eye out for a new litter news around from you. Will speak with you soon! Take Care, Kristy

Hi June- I wanted to know how lucky we are. This last weekend we had a house full of family. Total about 15 people in the house at any time. Plus, 2 additional four-legged friends (a 2 mon old weimaraner and a 9 mon old black mouth curr). FULL HOUSE!!! Anyway, it was the first time Krystal (now 7 mon) had been around so many people all at once. And has only recently started taking her to the local dog park for socialization with other dogs. She did outstanding! We were so impressed. She stayed away for awhile, but once she figured out how much strength to use with the smaller dogs she did great. All she got were compliments on how gentle she was with the other puppies and with Rottie (our 2yr old male chihuahua). She was kind and polite to all the guests, even when the food was starting to be passed around. She sat and kept her distance. By the time the visit was over EVERYONE wanted to sneek her out the door and into their car to take home with them.
We are so lucky and blessed to have such a perfect girl as Krystal in our lives.

June,
I want to tell you that I have gotten so many compliments lately on what a nice dog I have. I recently went to MO and KS to visit my family and Mattie went with me. These were all new experiences and new places for and she behaved wonderfully. She had the run of the house at my parents (they do not have house pets) and she slept in a canvas kennel in the bedroom with me at night and was great. My father has had hunting dogs all of his life and he was so impressed with Mattie’s disposition and behavior for a 7 month old dog. We recently had a small dinner party and my husband’s boss was so impressed she behaved so well he thought she was an “old dog” and he also commented his older house dogs did not behave anywhere as well as she did. She definitely is not obedience competition material and is whining right now to go outside to play but she is a sweetheart of a dog. Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you as a proud “parent” but also in appreciation to you for your breeding program and input in the selection process of which pup to pick. Mattie is the perfect fit for us. Thanks again June.

We are so happy that two of our family members are KK Ridgebacks! I've had at least one ridgeback in the family for more than 30 years and these two are some of the most special. Attila (Pagan x Mawenza) is now 5 and is a wonderful companion, traveler and farm dog. He loves to meet people when we are "in the city" and takes good care of us and the farm at home. Whenever we talk to him, he cocks his head to the side to listen and you can see his understanding in his shining dark eyes. My son, who likes to say he was raised by ridgebacks, says Attila is a terrific "brother." When we heard about the "Orphan Litter" we knew it was time to bring another ridgeback home and Mikhail Sputnik Scholar (Misha is his name at home & Sputnik means "little traveling companion") flew into TN in Nov 2006. Misha is more exhuberant and high energy than Tila, but he is just as smart and lovable. THis summer he accompanied me and my son on our travels, staying in hotels, riding elevators, and joining us for lunch and dinner at sidewalk cafes in Baltimore, Washington DC and the southeast. Whether it is Tila, Misha or the two of them together, people always comment on how our big boys are so well behaved and comfortable around people, which means they can come almost everywhere we go (yes I have a big car!) But I also know what wonderful guard dogs they are at home or for something they deem their territory. I think this ability to discern between "friendly time" and "watch dog time" is part of their good breeding and wonderful socialization as puppies before they even arrived at our homes. Thank you June for helping us add such wonderful family members!!

Hi June! Finally got this done...hope you enjoy the pics! Jag (AKA Rex) still continues to surprise us with his good and no-so-good days--but he's family. We're trying our darndest! Feel free to add the pics to your website under Friends and Family...
BTW, at Rex's heartworm check, my vet who had asked for your info to pass on to their friends who wanted a ridgie got one from you! Congrats! Thanks for being a great breeder we can recommend: especially to a vet! Thanks for everything...

Just wanted to do a little more bragging about Suki who is a credit to your kennel: I took her to a park the other day and while she was being walked by a 3 year old girl (not my daughter - someone she had never met before), two preschool classes got off their busses and paraded through the playground. They noisily walked right by Suki and this little girl and although it was just her holding the leash, Suki just stood there, politely wagging her tail. She did not so much as lean towards one of them, let aIone lunge. I got over there quickly just in case (there are always going to be some kids who are scared of dogs), but I never even had to hold the leash! Then later, a few of the preschool kids from the bus walked/ran her around the playground and she was perfect. Now, to be completely honest, I should tell you that we did go on a run earlier that morning, and she might have been a little tired from that. But still, I think that she behaved impeccably and is great PR for her breed (and your kennel). Of course while we were there, someone started asking me all about her, "Where did you get her? She seems really mellow. Are they all this mello?" This kind of thing happens all the time. Thanks for a great dog June!
